CSA Season is here!
Renaissance Farm
CSA Program and Supplemental Offerings
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Started in Massachusetts in the 1980’s, the program encouraged local populations to aid in sustaining and preserving the vanishing farms and farming communities within the Commonwealth. Today, it is estimated that there are over 13,000 CSA farms! With the increased awareness of food safety, more and more people want to know where their food is grown, how is has been handled and distributed. The shear beauty of the CSA is the produce goes directly from the farm to you!
How our CSA program works
When you become a member in Renaissance Farm’s CSA program, you are pledging your support to the farm. You will share the benefits of the fresh produce we will have available to you and you are also sharing in the risks of farming. That’s right you are sharing the risk right along side of us. If we suffer crops losses, you as a member also suffer losses. We cannot make up a lost crop nor offer any refunds. You must understand and be willing to commit to accept both the good and the bad before you become a member.
You will receive a box of fresh produce every week (if you have signed up for the supplemental programs, the extra items will also be in you weekly box). Your first box pick up will be July 7th and the last box pick up will be September 29th. Please note there will be no pick up Labor Day weekend. Boxes are to be picked up Monday’s between the hours of 2pm-6pm at our Retail/Harvest Barn, 278 Spielman Highway, Burlington. Any box not picked up will be donated to the Food Pantry.
